Granola

If you take meeting notes in Granola, connect it and Goose brings each note in as a meeting, with its transcript, notes and to-dos.

Before you start

You need a Granola API key. Create one in the Granola app under Settings, Connectors, API keys. Granola issues API keys on its Business plan. The key starts with grn_.

Connect it

1. Open Settings › Integrations.
2. On the Granola row, paste your key into Paste your Granola API key.
3. Press Confirm.

A toast says Granola connected, or Granola connected. Sync manually until Granola can reach Goose. if Granola can't notify Goose (see below). The row moves to Connected, showing the date you connected it.

What happens to your notes

Granola tells Goose when a note is ready, and Goose also checks for new notes once a day.

For each note:

• If the meeting is on your calendar, Goose adds the note to that meeting. It matches on the time and the people in it.
• If it isn't, Goose creates a new meeting from the note. A note where nobody else attended stays visible only to you; one with other people in it can be seen by your workspace. See Who can see your meetings.
• If Goose isn't sure the note is the same meeting as one on your calendar, it brings the note in as its own meeting and asks Are these the same meeting? on Home. Press Same meeting or Not the same; you can undo either.
• Goose keeps Granola's own summary, labeled Summary · Granola, and writes the to-dos from the transcript.

When Granola can't notify Goose

Sometimes Granola can't reach Goose to say a note is ready. The connected row then says Granola cannot notify Goose. Sync manually to pull recent notes. Press Sync now to bring in recent notes straight away. Goose still checks once a day on its own.

Common snags

• Granola did not accept that key. Check that it's a key starting with grn_, created under Settings, Connectors, API keys in Granola, and that your Granola workspace is on the Business plan.
• The row says Granola rejected the saved key. The key was revoked or expired in Granola. Create a new one, paste it into Paste a new Granola API key, and press Reconnect.
• Could not reach Granola. Try again in a minute. Granola didn't answer when you pressed Confirm. Wait a minute and try again.
• I revoked my key in Granola but the row still says Connected. Goose notices at its next check, at most a day later, and the row then asks for a new key.
• A note hasn't shown up. Wait for the daily check, or press Sync now if the row offers it.
