Meetings

Inside a meeting

What each part of an open meeting shows, before and after the call, and how to put a meeting on the right deal.

Press a meeting on the Meetings page and it opens beside the table. Press another row to switch meetings, or × to close it. The meeting shows different things before and after the call.

The top of the meeting

  • The title line gives the meeting's name, the company, the date and how long it runs. While the meeting is on, a green Live tag shows. Before it starts, a countdown says how long until it does (Starts in …).
  • Join ↗ opens the video call, when the invite has a link.
  • ⋯ holds Hide from Goose. See Who can see your meetings.
  • Deal names the deal the meeting is on, with its stage. Press the deal's name to open it. Change deal sits beside it (see Change the deal below). An internal meeting says Not a deal meeting instead.
  • Team lists your teammates on the meeting and their part: the deal's owner, the person who recorded it, and so on.
  • To-dos, once the call has been analyzed, counts what came out of it. Press it to open the To-dos tab.
  • Attendees lists who was invited. Press a person to see more about them. For a recording that had no calendar invite, the people heard on the call stand in.

At the bottom, Ask Gus about this meeting opens Ask Gus with this meeting as its subject.

Before the call

An upcoming meeting shows Prep for this call: Goose's brief for the meeting, then the points to raise. If the meeting is on a deal, what's still open on the deal and what has happened since the last call come below it. There are no tabs yet.

An upcoming meeting open beside the list: the title, company, date and Join button at the top, then its deal, team and attendees, and below them Prep for this call with the brief.
Before the call, the meeting shows its prep.

If there's no brief, the meeting says No brief for this call yet. Press Prepare a brief and Goose writes one. Before a meeting has the details.

After the call

Once Goose has analyzed the call, tabs appear under the top of the meeting:

  • Overview: the deal card, the summary and your sales methodology (all below).
  • Salesforce, when the deal is linked to Salesforce: what Goose would update there. The number on the tab counts the updates waiting.
  • To-dos: what each side committed to on the call, plus what's still open from earlier calls on the deal.
  • Emails: when Gmail is connected, the emails that go with the meeting and its deal.
  • Related: for a meeting on a deal, the deal's other meetings (In this deal), and the documents and mentions Goose Brain has attached to the deal.
An analyzed meeting open beside the list: the deal with Change deal, the team, the to-do count and the attendees at the top; the Overview, Salesforce, To-dos, Emails and Related tabs; then the Deal card with ACV, close date, health and next step, and the start of the Summary.
After the call, the meeting shows the summary, the deal card and the to-do count.

The deal card

On a meeting that's on a deal, Overview starts with a card for the deal: its ACV, Close date, Health and Next step. Press the deal's name to open it. If the deal is linked to Salesforce, a line under the card counts the updates waiting, for example 15 updates to push to Salesforce. Press it to open the Salesforce tab.

The summary

Summary opens with a short account of the call. Below it, the call is broken into topics, each with its main points. When something was decided, the topic carries a Decision tag with what was agreed. The first four topics show; press Show all N sections to see the rest.

Beside the Summary heading:

  • A label says who wrote the summary. When the notes came from a connected tool, such as Granola, it says so, for example Summary · Granola, and Goose keeps that tool's summary as it was.
  • Open transcript opens the full conversation.

If only one side of the call was heard, a note above the summary says so.

After this call

When Goose has something ready to do next, After this call appears under the summary. It can suggest emails to draft and other next steps, such as opening a deal for a company that has none.

Methodology

On a meeting that's on a deal, the Methodology section shows your sales methodology, such as MEDDPICC, filled in from the call, with a count of how many parts were captured (for example 8 of 8 captured). Parts the call added or changed are marked New or Updated. Check each one: open a part, then press Confirm if it's right, or Correct to fix it.

Change the deal

Put a meeting on a deal

A customer meeting with no deal shows + Attach to deal where the deal would be.

  1. Press + Attach to deal. A list of your workspace's deals opens, each with its stage.
  2. Press the deal the meeting belongs to. Or, if it's there, press Create a new deal at the top to start a new one for it.

To close the list without changing anything, press + Attach to deal again.

A meeting with no deal, its Attach to deal picker open: Create a new deal at the top, then the workspace's deals, each with its stage.
Attach to deal lists your deals, or starts a new one.

To attach several meetings at once, select them on the Meetings page and use Attach to deal in the bar at the bottom. See The Meetings page.

Move it to another deal, or take it off

  1. Press Change deal beside the deal's name.
  2. Press the deal to move the meeting to.
  3. Or, to take the meeting off its deal, press Remove from deal at the bottom of the list, then Remove. Goose won't attach it to a deal again on its own.

Who can change a meeting's deal

Only the meeting's owner, or a team lead, admin or workspace owner, can attach, change or remove its deal, and not from a read-only seat. A recording made with Record now can only be changed by the person who recorded it. If you don't see Change deal, or Goose won't let you change the deal, ask the meeting's owner.

An internal meeting shows Not a deal meeting and has no picker. To put it on a deal, select it on the Meetings page and use Attach to deal in the bar at the bottom, or press Mark customer first. Both need the meeting's owner, or a team lead, admin or workspace owner.

Note

A recording you made with Record now that you haven't put on a deal or company yourself is private to you. Its to-dos and notes follow the meeting: only people who can see the meeting see them, plus anyone a to-do is assigned to. Putting it on a deal shares the whole meeting with your workspace. See Who can see your meetings.
