Ask Gus about a deal

Asking a question about a deal and checking where the answer came from.

Asking a question about a deal and checking where the answer came from.0:41

Ask Gus about a deal in plain words and it answers from the deal's meetings, emails and notes, with its sources listed so you can check them.

Steps

  1. Open the deal: press Deals in the left rail, then the deal's row.
  2. At the bottom of the deal, press Ask Gus about this deal. Gus opens beside the deal, already set to that deal.
  3. Press one of the suggested questions, such as "What is blocking…?", or type your own in the box (Ask about this deal…). Press Enter or Ask to send it.
  4. While Gus looks it up, a line above the answer says what it's doing.
  5. Read the answer. Numbered markers in the text match the chips in the Sources row underneath.

To check a point, press its marker or chip to read the passage it came from. See Read the answer and check its sources.

Ask more widely

  • The chip under the panel's title shows what Gus is answering from. Press it to widen the question. See Choose what Gus answers from.
  • Your earlier conversations are under the clock button at the top of the panel, with + New conversation.

Gus can also make changes for you. See What Gus can change for you.

Common snags

  • "Read-only seat — ask your admin for a full seat." Your seat can read but not ask. Open Plan & usage to restore your seat, or ask your admin.
  • "Your workspace is out of credits." Asking is paused until your credits reset. Ask your admin about more credits.
  • "That message is too long." A question can be about 8,000 characters, a bit fewer when you're asking about a deal. Shorten it or split it into two.

For everything else, see Common snags in the Ask Gus section.
