Your day
To-dos and follow-ups
The commitments Goose hears on your calls, and how to research, answer, date and close them.
After each call, Goose writes down what was promised on both sides: the questions you said you'd answer, the files you said you'd send, and what the customer said they'd do. Each one is a to-do. This page covers where to find them and how to work through them.
Where to-dos appear
- Home. Your to-dos on your deals show as cards in Your queue. Your own private to-dos are listed under Internal · only you see these in Your deals, and join the queue on the day they're due. See Work your day from Home.
- A meeting's To-dos tab. Open the meeting from Meetings and choose To-dos. It lists every to-do from that call. If the meeting is on a deal, the to-dos still open from the deal's earlier calls are listed below, under Still open from and the call's name.
- A deal's Follow-ups tab. Open the deal and choose Follow-ups. It lists every to-do on the deal, from all its calls and emails. See The deal page.
Who owes what
In a meeting or on a deal, to-dos are grouped by who owes them:
- You owe: things your team committed to.
- They owe: things the customer committed to.
- Unassigned: no owner yet.
Each to-do shows its status, its type, the deal it's on, its owner and its due date. Press the to-do's text to open it: you see the words it came from, verbatim from transcript, and who committed to it and who asked. Open transcript opens the call at that point.
On Home, press the quote on a card to read the same words without leaving the page. Open in meeting opens the call.
The type and research chips
The colored chip names what kind of to-do it is. It decides what Goose does with it:
| Type | What it is | What Goose does |
|---|---|---|
| Product Question | What the product does, includes or costs | Researches it and drafts the answer |
| Technical Question | How it works, integrates or is secured | Researches it and drafts the answer |
| Security & Compliance | SOC 2, questionnaires, data agreements | Answers from your trust documents |
| Send | Something to share | Finds the file and links it in a draft |
| Scheduling | A meeting to set up | Looks for free times on your calendar |
| Info | Something to tell or remind someone | No research |
If Goose picked the wrong type, press the chip and choose another.
Once Goose has researched a question, a second chip shows how it went:
- Answered or Check answer, with a three-bar meter for High, Med or Low confidence. Check answer means read the answer closely before you send it.
- Needs human: Goose researched it but couldn't settle the answer.
- Researching: Goose is working on it.
Work a to-do
On Home, the same to-dos show as cards; see Work your day from Home.
Each to-do has a Done button, and most have one main button beside it. The main button changes as the to-do moves along:
- Research: Goose looks for the answer.
- Draft answer: Goose has an answer. Pressing it writes an email with the answer for you to review. If the chip says Check answer, read the answer closely first.
- Draft question: Goose couldn't settle the answer, so the email asks the customer instead. The arrow beside it has Enter an answer, for when you know the answer yourself.
- Done: press it when the to-do is handled. A done to-do shows Reopen instead.
Some types have their own main button: Schedule a meeting on a Scheduling to-do, and Draft email on an Info to-do for a customer. A Send to-do shows Draft with file once Goose has researched it but hasn't found a document; attach one yourself in the draft. When Goose Brain found the document, the button is Draft the email with it attached, inside the block that shows the file. These buttons only show on to-dos you own.
Each one opens a draft you can edit and, if you've connected Gmail, save to your Gmail drafts. See Send a follow-up email.
Goose Brain and your own answers
When Goose has looked a to-do up in Goose Brain, your workspace's store of documents and notes, the to-do shows what it found, or offers ways to look again. If you know the answer yourself, Answer it myself or Enter an answer lets you give it to Goose. See Answer a customer's question.
More actions
Hover over a to-do and press ⋯ (More actions):
- Re-research: research an answered question again. The new answer replaces the old one. If a to-do has been re-researched many times in the last hour, Goose asks you to try again later.
- View email: open the email the to-do refers to, when there is one.
- Dismiss: the to-do isn't needed. It stays in the list as closed.
- Dismiss with a note…: dismiss it and say why.
Owners and due dates
- Owner. Press the owner to change who owns the to-do. Type in Find people… to find a teammate.
- Due date. A to-do without one shows + Due date. Press it to pick Today, Tomorrow, Friday, Next week or a day on the calendar. Clear removes the date. Once set, the chip shows Due today, the day it's due, or how overdue it is, such as Overdue 3d.
- Deal. Press the deal's name on a to-do to move it to another deal.
Work several at once
Tick the box beside each to-do you want. A bar shows how many are selected, with Research selected, Email selected (for to-dos with an answer ready) and Clear.
Common snags
- The buttons are grayed out. Any member can research a to-do or enter an answer, unless their seat is read-only. Marking it done, reopening it, dismissing it and other changes are for its owner, co-owners and team leads. Hover over the button to see why.
- The main button is missing. On a to-do that's being researched, wait for Researching to finish. On a to-do with a Goose Brain result, use the buttons in that result instead.
- A Scheduling to-do can't find times. It reads your Google Calendar. Connect it in Settings › Integrations.
