Deals and pipeline
Your pipeline
The Deals page, what its numbers mean, and how to find and change the deals you want.
The Deals page is your pipeline: one table of your deals, with totals and a chart above it. Press Deals in the left rail to open it.
Whose deals you see
- Members see the deals they own.
- Team leads, admins and the workspace owner can also see everyone's. Open Filter and, under Scope, choose Team. The table then groups deals by rep. Choose My deals under Scope to go back.
- My deals, in the toolbar, narrows whatever you're looking at to deals you own or where you're the account executive (AE). It's most useful in the Team view.
The period: this quarter first
The first time you open it, the page shows This quarter and only open deals. Deals that close later are not in the table.
The line next to the title says where everything else is, for example "7 open · 1 won · 0 lost · 8 total · 2 outside this quarter":
- Press won, lost or total to see those deals instead of the open ones.
- Press outside this quarter to switch to All and see every deal, whatever its date.
To look at a different period, use the picker above the tiles:
- Choose Month, Quarter, Year or All.
- Press ‹ or › to step back or forward one period.
- Press the period's name (for example Next quarter) to jump back to the current one.
Goose remembers the period you last chose.
When you're looking at the current period, an open deal whose close date fell in an earlier period still shows in the table, marked overdue, but its value isn't counted in this period's numbers.
The tiles and the chart
The tiles sum up the deals in the period: Pipeline, Commit, Best case, Won, Win rate and Avg deal. Commit and Best case only appear when your deals have forecast categories.
Press a tile to see the deals behind it:
- Won shows the won deals.
- Win rate shows the lost deals.
- Commit and Best case show the deals in that forecast category.
- Pipeline goes back to all open deals.
A chip with the filter's name appears next to the period. Press it, or the tile again, to clear it.
The chart has four views: Flight board, Closing by month, By AE and Health. Pressing a part of the chart filters the table in the same way. Press the arrow at the right to hide the charts.
Search and filter
- Search (Search deals, people, accounts…) finds a deal by its name, its company, the person who owns it, its account executive or a contact's name. A search looks at every deal you can see, of any status and any date, and ignores the period and the other filters (only My deals still applies). Picking an account under Filter works the same way.
- Filter narrows the table by stage, by people (your team and the customer's), by health, by account, and to deals with open follow-ups. It also has four ready-made views:
- Needs me: deals at risk or stalled, closing within a week, or with no activity for two weeks. If your workspace is linked to Salesforce, it also includes deals with meeting notes not yet sent there.
- Closing this month: deals closing in the next 30 days, including overdue ones.
- Gone quiet: stalled deals, and deals with no activity for two weeks.
- Unpushed notes: deals with meeting notes not yet sent to Salesforce. It's only useful if your workspace is linked to Salesforce; without that, it lists every deal with notes from a call.
- Group by stage splits the table into one group per stage, each with its own total. In the Team view the table stays grouped by rep.
Each filter you turn on shows as a chip in the toolbar. Press a chip's × to remove it, or Clear filters in the Filter menu to remove them all.
Saved views
To keep a view you use often, open Saved views and press Save view…. Pick the stages, close date, quarter, owner, value, forecast and health you want, watching the count of deals that match, then give the view a name and save it. Your saved views are listed in the same menu:
- Press a view's name to apply it. Press it again to clear it.
- Press ★ to pin a view to the top of the list.
- Press ✕ to delete it.
Change several deals at once
Tick the box at the start of each deal you want. A bar appears at the bottom of the table:
- Change stage moves every selected deal to the stage you pick. A stage that closes deals is labeled (also marks won) or (also marks lost), and moving open deals there marks them won or lost. Deals that are already won or lost are skipped.
- Mark won and Mark lost close every selected deal. This applies at once, with no confirm step. There's no Undo. To reverse it, open each deal and choose ⋯ › Reopen deal.
- Set close date gives every selected deal the date you pick. Press Apply to save it.
- Reassign gives the deals to someone else. Only team leads, admins and the workspace owner see it.
- Push to CRM opens the Salesforce checklist for just these deals. It shows if your workspace is linked to Salesforce and some deals have changes waiting to push.
- Clear unticks them all.
Changes you make here stay in Goose. If your workspace is linked to Salesforce, they reach it only when you push them. If Push to Salesforce automatically is on for you, Goose pushes a deal you own after one of your meetings on it is analyzed, not on every edit.
"Did this close?"
When an open deal's close date has passed, its close date shows a red overdue chip, such as 3d overdue. Press it to answer Did this close?:
- Closed Won or Closed Lost closes the deal and sets its close date to today.
- Push close date moves the close date later. Pick +1 week, +2 weeks, End of quarter, or a date on the calendar.
A message confirms the change, with Undo for a few seconds.
Add a deal
Press + New deal, fill in the deal's name, company and stage, plus its value and close date if you know them, and save it. You can also start a deal from a meeting: see How meetings land on deals.
If your workspace is linked to Salesforce and you're on open opportunities there that aren't in Goose, a strip above the table says how many. Press Review and add, tick the ones you want, and add them. An opportunity you leave unticked won't be suggested to you again.
Why isn't my deal listed?
- It closes outside the period. Press outside this quarter in the title line, or choose All in the period picker.
- It's won or lost. The table shows open deals first. Press won or lost in the title line.
- A filter, a saved view or a tile is narrowing the table. Look for chips in the toolbar and next to the period, and clear them.
- You don't own it. Members see only their own deals. Ask the person who owns the deal, or a team lead, to check it.
- The whole page is empty and says "No sales methodology selected". Your workspace hasn't picked a sales methodology yet. An admin can choose one in Settings › Sales Process › Methodology. See Pick a sales methodology.
To find a deal quickly whatever its period or status, type its name in the search box.
