Meetings
Upload a transcript
Give Goose a call's transcript yourself, so it can write the summary and to-dos for a meeting that wasn't recorded.
When Goose didn't record a call, you can still get its notes: upload the transcript, and Goose analyzes it the same way it analyzes a recording. It writes the summary, pulls out the to-dos and fills in your sales methodology.
Where to find Upload
- On the Meetings page, a meeting that's Waiting for transcript has Upload beside the status in the Follow-up column.
- In an open meeting that's waiting for its transcript, press Upload transcript.
- On Home, a customer meeting that wasn't recorded may offer Add a transcript on its card.
Each of these opens the same Upload transcript dialog.
Upload it
- Add the transcript to the Transcript box. Either paste the text, or drag the file from your computer and drop it on the box. There's no button to browse for a file: drag it in. Goose accepts plain-text files, such as
.txt,.vtt,.srtand.md. Other files, such as Word documents or PDFs, are turned away: copy the text out of them and paste it instead. - If you like, set the Call date (optional).
- If an estimate shows at the bottom left, it says about how many credits the analysis will use, and how many you have.
- Press Upload & analyze.
The analysis usually takes under a minute, and the meeting updates by itself. To close the dialog without uploading anything, press Cancel.
Common snags
- "This meeting has already been analyzed — its transcript can’t be replaced." You can only upload a transcript for a meeting Goose hasn't analyzed yet. A meeting that already has notes keeps them.
- "That file type isn't supported …" The file isn't plain text. Open it, copy the text and paste it into the box.
For what each meeting status means, see Why a meeting has no notes.
Note
You can also add a transcript in Settings › Brain, under Add a transcript, while Goose Brain is on and isn't paused for storage or credits. A transcript added there isn't tied to a meeting: Goose learns from it for Goose Brain, but it doesn't become a meeting's notes. It can be read by everyone in your workspace.
