Before a meeting
Finding and using the prep Goose writes before a customer call.
Before a customer meeting that's tied to a deal or a company, Goose writes a short brief. It covers the goal of the call, what could block it, and the points to raise. Goose prepares it automatically, up to three days ahead.
Read the prep on Home
- Open Home. Your next meeting is in the card at the top, with the goal of the call under Goal.
- Press Read prep. The card opens to show:
- Blocker: what could get in the way.
- Points: the talking points to bring up.
- Who's coming: the customer's people and your own team.
- Press Hide prep to fold it away again.
Open the full brief
- On the Home card, press Open in Meetings. The meeting opens beside your list of meetings.
- The top of the meeting shows its deal and stage, your team, and who's coming.
- The Overview starts with Prep for this call: the background to the call, then each point in turn.
- If the meeting is on a deal, more follows below the brief:
- A line counts what's still open on the deal. Press it to see the open to-dos.
- Since the last call lists what has happened on the deal since you last met. Press an item to see where it came from.
- A line counts what's still unknown on the deal. Press it to see the list.
- To ask your own question, press Ask Gus about this meeting at the bottom.
- When it's time, press Join on the Home card, or Join ↗ at the top of the meeting, to open the call.
For what else an open meeting shows, see Inside a meeting.
Prep for any meeting
Your next meeting isn't the only one with prep. Press Meetings in the left rail: each upcoming meeting in the list has a Prep button. Press it to open that meeting's brief.
Which meetings get a brief
Goose prepares briefs by itself for meetings that:
- have someone from outside your company on them;
- start within the next 72 hours;
- are tied to a deal or a company in Goose.
Internal meetings, and meetings with no deal or company, don't get one by themselves.
If a meeting has no brief, open it and press Prepare a brief. That works for any upcoming meeting, internal ones included.
Common snags
- "No brief for this call yet." Press Prepare a brief and Goose writes one now.
- "The brief didn't finish." Press Try again.
- A meeting has no prep. Open it and press Prepare a brief. See Which meetings get a brief.
- The meeting isn't in Goose. Goose finds meetings through your calendar. Check that Google Calendar is connected in Settings › Integrations.
